Border Bash II: Fulton ranked #1 in Tennessee Class 3A for 2008

The Fulton Falcons have received the No. 1 ranking in the 2008 Murphy Fair Class 3A pre-season football poll. The Falcons secured 10 first place votes and appeared on more ballots than any other team in 3A. The Red Tornadoes and Falcons will face each other this Friday in Waynesville at Border Bash II.

The Murphy Fair poll is a coaches poll and is Tennessee's only published ranking of high school teams before the start of the season. Teams are ranked by total number of top-10 votes by coaches throughout the state. First-place votes, however, are only counted from coaches of other Class 3A schools. Even though defending state champ David Lipscomb received more first-place votes, Fulton received more top-ten votes.

First-place votes are in parentheses. Note that three of the top four teams are from the same region.
